The challenge: THE GOLDILOCKS SEARCH. A PARTNER WHO WAS ‘JUST RIGHT’.
The team at Facteon knew they needed an IT partner that was agile, of reasonable size but not a huge conglomerate. A team that was easy to connect with who would be responsive…
“Ease of contact was really important. As was communication. You know, speaking to us in language we understand. Who didn’t use buzzwords. Much of our choice had a lot to do with feel and fit.”
The solution: MIGRATE, ADAPT AND GROW.
Facteon approached us to help them migrate their infrastructure. We created a suitable solution that kept downtime to a minimum and let Facteon operate Business As Usual as much as possible. The onsite server infrastructure they are now running was purchased through and purpose-built by BTG.
“The main brief was to find a long term partner in the IT sphere. One that would help us to adapt and grow. Now that we are no longer part of a slow and constrained corporation, we must have the IT systems that reflect that.”
The implementation: LOCAL. INTERNATIONAL. OPERATIONAL.
A large portion of the Facteon team are situated in China. Our implementation strategies must always take into account the fact that we’re providing solutions both locally and for the Chinese offices as well.
“The migration is effectively finished. Now we’re tidying up loose ends. As there always are with operations like this, there were a few curly issues. BTG had enough capability to identify and solve them.”
The results: ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN AND EASTERN FRONT.
Often the best gauge for success is feedback, or in this case, the lack of it…
“Since the migration, the level of noise, in other words – complaints, has dropped significantly. Our staff really like the fact that since going from an internal IT team to an external partner they feel their issues are given a much higher priority.”
